✒️ The Power Of Journaling

Hey Reader!

The past couple of months have been... different for me. With plenty of free time on my hands—still unemployed, still in rehab (so no exercising), and officially off social media (I still create content, just don’t scroll anymore)—I’ve found myself leaning back into one of my favorite practices: journaling.

It’s been a game-changer. I even treated myself to a few adorable Kurzgesagt notebooks and started using a tablet my mom gifted me to handwrite on. 🥹✨

If you’ve been following my content, you probably know I’m a huge advocate for writing things down—not just because I’m a professional overthinker, but because journaling is backed by so much solid research.

This article from Positive Psychology is just one of the thousands of peer-reviewed studies showing how journaling helps with processing emotions and managing anxiety. Pretty amazing, right?

For me, every single time I sit down and write, I feel lighter and clearer afterward. That’s why I want to share 6 powerful journaling questions that you can ask yourself daily to live more intentionally. Let’s dive in:

☀️ Morning Projection

Start your day with purpose and excitement. Ask yourself:

  1. What am I excited about today?
  2. What’s one thing under my control that would improve this day?
  3. If I lived more truthfully, freely, and bravely, what would I do differently today?

🌙 Night Dump

Set the tone for a good night’s sleep by reflecting on the positive. Ask yourself:

  1. What good have I done today?
  2. What’s one thing I’m grateful for today?
  3. If I were to tell a story about today, what would it be about?

Personally, I've been doing this practice for over 2 years now and is one of the most robust and enjoyable habits I have in my life right now.

💡How to apply this concept TODAY:

For the next week, spend 5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes in the evening answering these six questions... and reply to this email with your answers!

👀 Let's talk about crunch

I've just started a three-part video series about the infamous crunch in game developers. In this first video, we're covering the reasons behind why some developers choose (or are forced to) crunch. I'd love to know your thoughts on the topic.
